Woodwork Shop
The C.D.S.C.L. Woodwork Shop is located on the corner of 8th Ave and
Canyon across the street from the Gleaners. This program, also known as
the 8th Avenue Day Program, builds some of the finest Picnic Tables,
Lattice, Planters & Baskets in the Creston Valley.
The Woodwork Shop provides opportunities and training for individuals with
developmental disabilities in a vocational setting. Participants in this
program construct and/or finish wood products such as stakes, planters,
picnic tables, bat houses and
bird feeders. These items are for sale to the Community.
The CDSCL Woodshop provides products to large agencies such as the
Ministry of Highways and was a major supplier of stakes to the BC Gas
Pipeline Project. The Woodshop is open Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 3:00
pm.
The Maintenance Program helps with maintenance for
Society homes as well as services such as residential
relocation and vehicle cleaning, maintenance and
inspections.
